About the Route

This route takes you from Grahamstown to the lovely small town of Hogsback. It consist of mainly easy gravel roads with a few section of tar in-between. Some of the gravel roads have corrugation and loose rocks. You will pass several local remote villages along the way. The route is very scenic and towards the end you will go over the Sandille dam wall and turn on the Wolf River Pass. It is not on Google Maps, but the best way to get to Hogsback for sure! It goes through the state forest and is a stunning and easy ride. Once you get to Hogsback, I would suggest to stay here for at least a day. The town gives the feeling it stood still in time. There is a small petrol station and supermarket here for you basic supplies and has lovely restaurants and bars. There are plenty of things to see and do.
